I own and love John O'Donohue's book "To Bless the Space Between Us (A book of Blessing)", so when I saw "Benedictus (A Book of Blessings" I thought it would be new material. Be warned that there are seven sections of blessings, but THEY ARE IDENTICAL to those in To Bless the Space Between Us. There is one section at the end of the book with some editorial comments that are different, but I am disappointed to have bought the same book twice under two names.

Too many errors

I have only read the first 600 pages of this 760 page book. Although it has a lot of good information and is well organized, there is a remarkable amount of errors in every chapter. In addition to many grammatical errors, I find errors that actually mix up the information and lead you to learn things incorrectly if you don't catch the error. Sometimes the text information doesn't match the information in the illustrations. I find some of the illustrations more difficult to interpret than they really should be. Also, do not depend on the answers to the end of chapter multiple choice questions. Many of the answers given in the appendix are wrong. The key concepts given at the end of each section are sometimes new concepts and not something you encounter when reading the section.
I am frustrated that a book can be sold for so much when it was so carelessly thrown together.

Solid textbook; very dry

There's not a whole lot to say about this book; it does a fine job as a molecular biology textbook for undergraduates. Once you progress past the undergraduate level, this is only helpful as a reference and won't do much good for getting experiments underway. The writing style is dry and getting much out of it depends on your ability to memorize.

It's not a bad book, it just suffers from the same flaws as most textbooks.

I had this book for a course in Molecular Biology. Section titles read like titles of research papers. Important information is crammed into long, dense blocks of text and is not marked for easy notice. The art is rather nice, but it barely makes up for the book's overall lack of readability.

Ignore the negative and uninformed bashers of tax liens

The 16% Solution is an excellent book to help you get started investing in a very powerful and safe investment.
True it was written back in the 90's, but things really haven't changed all that much. And yes it is true that institutions are in on tax liens, but the real truth is that these were and are and always have been the primary players. I suspect the negative reviews are from banks and other institutions who do not want you to know about these outstanding investments.
The rate of return is not cut in stone. While you are not guaranteed 16%, in some states and in many cases you can earn 50%...even today.
I invest in tax liens and especially over the last three years, have far outperformed the stock market and other forms of investment. I have also picked up houses for pennies on the dollar via tax liens. Remember, a tax lien is superior to all other liens, even IRS liens.
As I said, I invest in tax liens and the USA is a huge market place. I don't feel that letting you know what a great investment tax liens are is going to hurt my business. And no, I do not have any courses or books to sell. Nor am I in any way associated with this author or any other author or seminar promoter. I just believe in these investments based on my own experience and hate to see potential investors scared away from a very powerful and lucrative investment because of one malcontent who is only trying to push a dead website which does have books and seminars to sell.
I guess I am old fashioned that way.
The 16% Solution is an outstanding book and I highly recommend it.

Tax liens - lucrative and fun

Although there is no investment that is completely safe, tax liens come as close as possible. Why? Because your profits are is guaranteed by the US government and secured by real estate.
Tax liens used to be a secret known only by insiders and savvy investors. The word is getting out. Books like the 16% Solution are getting the word out and a lot of investors are not too happy with that.
You can earn from 5% in states like Louisiana to 50% in states like Michigan.
Caution: Don't buy into the false hopes perpetrated on late night tv and try to use Tax Liens as a get rich quick scheme. Like any other investment, it's a process and you have to know what you are doing. 16% Solution is a good start.
It used to be that you had to buy tax liens only through auctions. Now you can buy tax liens through the mail and even on the internet.
I recommend the 16% Solution as a excellent book to help you get started in investing in tax liens.

Nice, safe returns--good book.

I thought that this was an excellent book and an effective way to tap into the world of tax liens. Better than paying $200-$300 or more for book tape programs. Tax liens are a excellent strategy for those who want big rates of return but also want something safer than the stock market. I also suggest More Wealth without Risk by Charles Givens.

My Favorite Korean Study Resource

One of the best resources I use for studying Korean. Grammar is really important when learning Korean, but I don't think you will get very far in your learning if you don't buckle down and focus on learning vocabulary too. This book helps with both! Having numerous examples of correctly written, spoken and translated sentences is a major help. (Have any of you tried to use a translation app to help you communicate in Korean? Dreadful. Just completely dreadful.)

You can use this book and the audio files that go with it in several different ways, depending on your preferred study method. I'm an auditory learner, so being able to load the audio onto my phone and listen on my drive to work is ideal for me. The audio file come with lyrics, so I can check on the translation of the audio without have the book with me. I read the sample sentences before and after to check on the word meanings and grammer I don't understand. I've been studying Korean as a hobby for about a year (approximately 15-20 minutes a day with an occassional k-drama episode thrown in just to spice things up) and am still very much a beginner. I think this book is a resource you can begin using right away to start picking up vocabulary words and pronounciation. As you progress with your Korean skills and learn more grammar, this book really helps reinforce what you learn and helps with active listening and comprehension. Each sample sentence features the word for that day with a translation below it and additional vocabulary and grammar explanations to the side. This means you can listen and learn a word a day, or study the same word over and over to pick up all the other vocab words and grammar usage. The audio files are excellent and feature a male and female native speaker who repeat the sample sentence several times in varying speeds. I've had this book for about a year and continue to study with it. I am very encouraged by how much I can understand now without even looking at the translations. This book is one of the many excellent resources I've purchased from TalkToMeInKorean (TTMIK) and I'm very satisfied. Pair it with the free Korean grammar lessons offered on their website and practice, practice, practice! Oh, one more thing to mention. You will get the most out of this book if you know how to read hangeul. No romanization in this book. (Trust me, if you are going to put in the effort to learn Korean, the first thing you should do is learn to read and write hangeul!) Good Luck! 열심히 공부 하세요!
